Behind the Scene Thank yous

Growing up I can remember my mom always telling my siblings and I to say please and thank you. She would remind us every time we went to a restaurant, a friend's house; well I guess pretty much anytime we left her sight. One thing that I have learned since those days is that we should say 'thank you' more often. How many times have you said 'thank you' to someone and they did not do something for you directly? Just think how amazing it feels when someone recognizes all of your hard work. Often times the hardest effort is put behind the scenes, we do not get to see the hours of time spent on a task. For an example we see a man or woman in uniform, we see what they represent, but we do not see the sacrifice they have put into their job. We do not see the child waking up early so that mom or dad can go to the fire station or the police station to start a twelve hour shift. We do not see the nurse who is coming home at 7:00 in the morning to then change into being a mom so that their kids can have breakfast and have someone help them get ready for school. We do not always think of the military wife or husband who is having to be a single parent while their spouse is over seas fighting for our freedom. I encourage you to say thank you to someone and not because they did something for you that you saw but for doing something that you did not get to see. This one small action on your part can change a person outlook on their day and can change the course of your day. So lets say thank you to that stranger who and lets pay a little act of kindness forward.
